I'M CREATING A MUSIC FESTIVAL FROM SCRATCH!

Greetings,
Chester has a boat load of excellent musicians living and creating in the area. What Chester needs is a good Music Festival. That is what's been goin through my head over the past several months. After a few beers and stuff with my buddy Big Jimi, we said, let's go for it.
So here we are. I am in the exploratory/feasibility phase of putting on a Music Festival at the Chester Fairgrounds. I'm starting at ground zero. I have no clue what I'm doing but I know I can do it. I figured I might as well share this journey with anyone interested so that if anyone else wants to do something simialr they can learn from my mistakes (I'm kindof thinking I'm going to make a few).
So, where I'm at right now is I'm confirming the location and dates. I want to make this a Charity event in that if we make any money, I want to help the local youth get excited about music and the outdoors. So why not buy instruments for the schools or bikes and helmets for those in need?
I've already received a lot of local support, especially from Eric Lichter and his Dirt Floor Studio. The town and the merchants are also excited about it.
So far I received a verbal/tentative agreement from the Chester Fairgrounds to use it the weekend of August 4-5. It was only a verbal so I can't count on it yet.
Here's a quick list of some of the other things we know we need to have. And really, we need to have a pretty strong commitment by the end of next month (Feb). to make this thing happen. It's not going to be easy at all. I need more people to help me with all the logistics.
Here's the list;
LOCATION, DATES, BANDS, HEADLINERS, SOUND SYSTEM, SPONSRSHIPS(fund raising), INSURANCE, NON-TAX STATUS, CONCESSIONS, PORTOLETS, VOLUNTEERS, PROMOTIONAL STRATEGY, POSTERS, TICKETS, SECURITY, COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, BANNERS, SECURITY, FOOD FOR BANDS, CARNIVAL ACTS, TRANSPORTATION, PUBLICITY.
What else???
Any help or any ideas anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

Chas

It's official.... one of our team riders has gone insane.
Well, not really, but some people may call it that. Trevor Lyons is officially booked for Habitat for Humanity's Habitat Bicycle Challenge (did you get that?), a cross country charity ride. He will be riding from New Haven, CT, to Portland, Oregon, on HBC's Central Route.
This ride benefits communities literally across the country. This is because of two things. First, ride members must raise a minimum of $4,000 before they can depart. Second, riders will be giving speeches and/or giving a helping hand at Habitat for Humanity build sites each night.
If you'd like to assist Trevor in his fundraising, drop him an email at vski05@bu.edu

Greetings All,

Charlie here. Check out my new,,,,ok my old 1975 VW Transporter Bus. I know many of you are saying to yourself, "dude, are you trippen to a Dead concert or what?" As you can see, it's in really good shape. There really isn't any major body damage just a few cosmetic dings. The engine runs great too.

Now you have to do a bit of visualization with me as I plan to pimp it out a bit. I figure we can paint it the RadSport blue on the bottom and orange on top. I found some vintage styled bike racks that will add a nice touch as well as some porche wheels. Does anyone out there know anything about these classic rides? I would appreciate any of your thoughts, ideas or parts.

I have it in the shop now having the mechanic give it a tune-up and oil change. I have to fix the throttle cable and bleed the brakes but other than that, it's very drivable. Anyway, I'll continue to post updated pictures on the progress. I think it will be pretty cool driving it around the shoreline.

Cheers!

How's it going everyone, this is Paul Bickford and I'll be your friendly neighborhood Rad Racers publicist.

On November 5th, Kate Baylis participated in her first ever cyclocross race. She had the following to say about it....

"Cyclocross is a lot of fun!!! After doing it once, I can safely say that you will be seeing me in many races to come. Just hoping to do a little better than I did at this one...."

Kate finished 37th out of 40 in B women. But, she had lots of fun and in racing that's 3/4 the battle!!
